Meetings may be called on urgent issues by the Management Committee at any time on short notice. The Management Committee will advise members if we need to have additional monthly meetings if items of particular concern arise during the year, or there is an opportunity to hear any special guest speaker.
Meetings are normally held in the Nelson Room of the Nelson Bay Bowling Club.

Dear Nigel.
Thank you for your submission to PSC re DA 16 2024-581-1:16 AMARNA Development which was waved through the June PSC Meeting.
It reflected submissions I and adjoining neighbours made to this DA, and earlier comments re the 1994 approval and amendments.
This is the most egregious abuse of an R2 Low Density Residential Zoning. Surely an ‘Order to Complete’ or lose the 3rd stage should have been made by PSC at least 10 years ago. What precedent does this set for this highly prized low density residential area morphing into a high density extension of the Nelson Bay Commercial area? 5 storey buildings?
The late Barry O’Keefe AM QC and, I understand Head of the Heritage Council said at a dinner attended by my wife and I in Mudgee many years ago, that “we should treasure our riverine environments”, of which Dutchies Beach is a prime example.
PSC, in its many configurations since 1994, has at the least, been
remiss in not calling up this development earlier and seeking to purchase the lower part of the third stage, housing the original Travelodge motel owner’s cottage, as a natural extension of the Dutchies Beach parkland.
Nigel, your comments in your submission on behalf of the TRRA Planning Committee re this development are spot on but apparently have been disregarded by the current PSC.
